Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Leh – Acclimatization
Airport: Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport, Leh. Upon arrival at Leh, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel for check-in. Enjoy a refreshing welcome tea or coffee. The day is reserved for rest and acclimatization to the high altitude. Lunch will be served at Karma Lodge. In the afternoon (around 3:30 PM), visit the iconic Shanti Stupa and explore the vibrant Leh Market.
Overnight Stay: Leh (Karma Lodge)
Day 2: Sham Valley Sightseeing
Distance: 140 km | Duration: 6–7 hours
After breakfast (9:00 AM), proceed for a full-day excursion to Sham Valley. Visit:
After enjoying the panoramic views and photography at the confluence, continue towards Alchi Village. Arrive by early afternoon and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
Post lunch, visit the historic Alchi Monastery (11th century), renowned for its unique architecture and heritage significance.
Later, return to Leh by evening.
Overnight Stay: Leh (Karma Lodge)
Day 3: Leh to Nubra Valley (Hunder)
Distance: 125 km | Duration: 4–5 hours
After breakfast (8:00 AM), drive to Nubra Valley via the iconic Khardung La Pass (18,380 ft)—one of the highest motorable roads in the world. Stop at the pass for breathtaking views and photography.
Continue towards Nubra Valley. En route, halt for lunch.

Later, proceed to Hunder Sand Dunes and enjoy a unique double-humped Bactrian camel ride. Overnight Stay: Hunder (Guesthouse)
Day 4: Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake via Shyok Valley
Distance: 160 km | Duration: 6–7 hours
After breakfast, drive towards the spectacular Pangong Lake via the scenic Shyok Valley route. Arrive by afternoon and check into your camp. After lunch, enjoy a leisurely walk along the lake and witness the mesmerizing colors of the water, especially during sunset.
Overnight Stay: Pangong Lake (Deluxe Camp)
Day 5: Pangong Lake to Leh via Chang La Pass
Distance: 140 km | Duration: 6–7 hours
Early morning, witness the stunning sunrise at Pangong Lake, followed by breakfast at the camp. Later, drive back to Leh via Chang La Pass, another high-altitude mountain pass.
En route, visit:
Arrive in Leh by evening. Spend time exploring the local market for souvenirs and local delicacies. Overnight Stay: Leh (Karma Lodge)
Day 6: Departure from Leh
After an early morning breakfast, transfer to Leh Airport for your onward journey.

Thiksey Monastery (also spelled Thikse Gompa) is one of the most magnificent and architecturally impressive Buddhist monasteries in Ladakh. Located about 19 km east of Leh, at an altitude of around 3,600 meters (11,800 feet), it sits dramatically on a hilltop overlooking the Indus Valley.

Hemis Monastery is the largest and one of the most important Buddhist monasteries in Ladakh. It is a major center of Tibetan Buddhism and an important cultural and spiritual landmark in the Himalayas. Hemis Monastery is located about 45 km southeast of Leh in the Union Territory of Ladakh. It stands at an altitude of around 3,700 meters (12,139 feet) in a peaceful valley surrounded by high mountains near the Indus River.

Stakna Monastery, also known as Stakna Gompa, is a prominent Buddhist monastery located in the Union Territory of Ladakh in northern India. Perched dramatically on a hill rising from the banks of the Indus River, the monastery is about 25 kilometers southeast of Leh. Its commanding position offers panoramic views of the fertile Indus Valley and the surrounding barren mountains.

Chemday Monastery (also spelled Chemrey Gompa) is one of the important Buddhist monasteries of eastern Ladakh, located about 40 km east of Leh on the road toward Pangong Lake. Built dramatically on a hilltop overlooking a quiet valley, the monastery is known for its peaceful setting, annual festival, and strong association with the Drukpa Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism.

Spituk Monastery (also known as Spituk Gompa) is one of the most prominent and historically significant Buddhist monasteries in Ladakh. Located about 8 km from Leh, it stands dramatically on a hill overlooking the Indus River, offering panoramic views of the valley and surrounding mountains. Spituk is especially known for its ancient origins, its association with the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism, and its famous annual Gustor festival. Spituk Monastery was founded in the 11th century by Od-de, the elder brother of Lha Lama Changchub Od. It was initially established as a Kadampa monastery.

Matho Monastery (also spelled Mato Gompa) is one of the most distinctive and culturally significant monasteries in Ladakh, located about 26 km southeast of Leh across the Indus River. Perched on a hill in the Indus Valley, Matho is especially famous for its unique oracle festival and its affiliation with the Sakya school of Tibetan Buddhism. Matho Monastery was founded in the early 15th century (around 1410) by Lama Dugpa Dorje. It is the only monastery in Ladakh belonging to the Sakya sect of Tibetan Buddhism, which makes it particularly important in the region’s religious landscape.
