My name is Tsewang Dorje, a local resident of Ladakh and the owner of Karma Lodge in Leh. I have been associated with the tourism since 2005, working as a cultural and trekking tour guide across Ladakh. In 2010, I started my own trekking and travel agency, and in 2021, I converted my 40-year-old housebuilt by my father into Karma Lodge.
Karma Lodge is built in a traditional Ladakhi style, using stone and sun-dried mud bricks. Only the outer walls have been reinforced with modern cement plaster, while the soul of the house remains purely local and authentic.

- Shanti Stupa – Built by Japanese Buddhists, this stupa enshrines relics of Shakyamuni Buddha. It offers a panoramic view of Leh town and is located just 1 km from Karma Lodge.
- Golden Buddha Statue (Gompa Village) – Located in Gompa Village, about 5 km from Karma Lodge. An ideal day hike to enjoy beautiful village landscapes while remaining close to Leh town.
- Samkar Gompa – Approximately 3 km from Karma Lodge, known for its peaceful atmosphere and traditional Ladakhi village setting.

Our lodge in Leh, Ladakh offers private rooms with attached bathrooms, family rooms, and a dormitory, making it perfectly suitable for couples, families, and solo travelers. In our restaurant, we prepare food using organic vegetables, cultivated in our parent garden in the village 6 km from Leh town.
I also personally arrange trekking tours, cultural sightseeing, and valley tours across Ladakh, including visits to ancient monasteries, Nubra Valley, Turtuk Village, Pangong Lake, Hanle highland (nomadic region), Tso Moriri Lake, and Sham Valley. We work with a team of experienced local taxi drivers, who also act as knowledgeable guides. We assist in arranging Inner Line Permits and Protected Area Permits for foreign tourists visiting restricted border areas of Ladakh.
